Why doesn’t Pilgrim Landfill accept all kinds of waste?
The Pilgrim Landfill is licensed to accept Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste. C&D waste is made up mostly of waste lumber, broken cement and block, ceramic plumbing fixtures, plaster, drywall, and other more inert materials. Construction requirements are not as stringent for this type of facility, so they cannot accept other municipal waste.
