The Blue Earth County Regional Household Hazardous Facility and Product Reuse Center are opening for the 2021 season on Tuesday, April 6th. The facility, located at 651 Summit Avenue in Mankato, will be open noon to 6 pm on Tuesdays, noon to 4 pm on Wednesdays & Thursdays, and the second Saturday of each month from 8 am to 12:30 pm through the end of October. Residents may drop-off waste during open hours without an appointment. The Product Reuse Center will be open by appointment only on Tuesdays from noon to 6 pm. Items accepted at the facility include hazardous wastes from households in Blue Earth, Nicollet, and Le Sueur counties and farm chemicals from Blue Earth County farmers. Proof of residency of those counties must be shown upon arrival. Products should be in their original containers, if possible, with labels attached. Examples of items accepted include paints, stains, household cleaners, automotive products, batteries, and yard/garden chemicals. There is no fee for this service.
