The Blue Earth County Household Hazardous Waste Facility will begin new hours of operation beginning Tuesday, July 21st. The facility, located at 651 Summit Avenue, will be open from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesdays & Thursdays, and the second Saturday of each month from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. until the end of October. Appointments will no longer be required to drop-off hazardous waste.
Items accepted at the facility include hazardous wastes from households in Blue Earth, Nicollet, and Le Sueur counties and farm chemicals from Blue Earth County farmers. Proof of residency of those counties must be shown upon arrival. Products should be in their original containers, if possible, with labels attached. Examples of items accepted include paints, stains, household cleaners, automotive products, batteries, and yard/garden chemicals. There is no fee for this service.
The Product Re-Use Center will remain closed at this time. An announcement will be made at a later time regarding the availability of the Product Re-Use.
